Q: What motivated you to start your own business?
I started up my own business because I wished to work for myself and create my own future.

Q: What were the ups and downs when trying to set up your business?
The downs: Lack of experience, knowledge and finance.

The Ups: Whilst progress has been delayed by the need for me to get a Civil Aviation Authority licence to fly I have now picked up contracts with Rugby & East Warwickshire Hockey Club and Princethorpe College. I am talking to Rugby School and Rugby Golf Club about working with them.

Q: Why did you access financial support through CWRT?
Nat West Bank had turned me down and I already had a business plan prepared with help obtained through the Royal British Legion “Be The Boss” scheme which had to put all applications for finance on hold as they were inundated with applications.

Q: How has the loan provided helped you?
I first started working with Jon Bass from the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce who put me in touch with Andrew from CWRT. Both Jon and Andrew helped me through the start up phase and get me ready to apply for a loan.

The £12,000 Start Up Loan I received from CWRT allowed me to purchase the necessary equipment to complete the CAA courses and the support equipment that I need to operate.

Q: Are there any top tips that you would like to share with others thinking about starting or growing their own business?
Do not be frightened to ask for help. It is out there.
